(LANSING) – The counties of Southwest Michigan saw their unemployment go up from May to June.

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget says St. Joseph County’s unemployment increased from 4.1% to 4.9%.

The biggest jump in the area was Hillsdale County, which went up from 4.2% to 5.4%.

Branch County went from 3.8% to 4.4%, while Cass County saw a rise in their unemployment from 4.2% to 5.1%.
